Walking in the Highlands
Ben Lawers Hotel is ideally placed for a number of walks to suit all capabilities. Everything from Perthshire's highest Munro, with which the hotel shares its name, to low level woodland walk.
From the scenic 9 hole course in Killin itself to the more famous Gleneagles, there are several golf courses within easy driving distance.
Off Road Driving
Experience real off-road driving and discover what a 4x4 can do in the most challenging environment. Manoeuvre a Land Rover through forest tracks, drive it up almost impossibly steep hills without sliding backwards and control it while driving down hair raising drops. Drive through deep running waters and over sticky mud without stalling. The Highland Off Road driving experience will get your adrenaline pumping.
Fishing from river bank on the River Lochay is available, permits available from the post office in killin or kenmore from 15th March to 15th September.

Edradour Distillery is situated on the hils overlooking the town of Pitlochry - which is a lovley place to make a day trip to from the Ben Lawers area. Edradour is single malt whisky, produced in Scotland's smallest distillery. The whisky is hand made as it was 150 years ago; the whisky making equipment in the distillery has remained unchanged since the distillery opened and only 12 casks of whisky are produced each week, making Edradour single malt a rare pleasure.
Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery
Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery is found on the outskirts of the town of Aberfeldy - a short distance from the Ben Lawers Hotel. At the distillery you can take a guided tour and learn more about the art of how whisky is produced today, and how it was made in the early days.
Castle Menzies is a sixteenth century castle which was the seat of the Chiefs of Clan Menzies for over 400 years and importantly situated, it was involved in the turbulant history of the Highlands and here Bonnie Prince Charlie rested on his way to Culloden in 1746. Castle Menzies is open from Easter to mid October from 10.30am - 5pm (Sundays 2 - 5 pm)
Blair Castle, on the outskirts of Blair Atholl is Scotland’s most visited historic house and the home of the Atholl Highlanders, the only remaining private army in Europe.
A tour of Blair Castle lets you explore some 30 rooms which are steeped in historical artefacts and information. Amongst the most impressive rooms on the tour are the ballroom with its 175 pairs of stag’s antlers and the China Room which displays more than 1700 individual pieces including Coalport and blue Dresden china.
